Describe what specific praise, criterion-specific rewards, and choice-making strategies are. Specific praise is an important tool for teachers. When used successfully in the classroom, it can expand the social and scholastic execution of students, and in addition enhance classroom environment and also can be reinforcing for some students, but most importantly powerful praise, is a framework that is utilized as a way that recognizes a looked-for or appropriate conduct. Criterion-specific rewards can be used as a recognition to mediate classroom and an intervention for managing classroom behavior. What are some of the factors that will allow Sam to have long term success in the classroom? Some of the factors that will allow Sam have a long term success in the classroom, include making Sam feel safe, respected and included. Moreover, I will make Sam understand the effect of his behavior when he is acting inappropriately since this in turn can affect his learning. In addition, I will motivate Sam to behave appropriately since that would improve his success in the classroom. As a teacher, I will maintain high standards for academics and behavior for all students and will maintain a positive and supportive outlook on inclusion. No one person can claim sole responsibility for motivating another person. As educators we must deliver instruction to meet every student’s needs, and offer openings for student interest. I will also motivate Sam by showing him that he can be successful in the classroom. In addition, I will differentiate instruction to meet the Sam’s needs by adjusting the corresponding class work to the appropriate levels, by condensed coursework, additional response time or enrichment activities.
