Our society has many troubles these days but lots of them go without notice or overlooked as less important. One of the most profitable businesses in the world is human trafficking, with a multi-billion dollar profit. People are trafficked for different reasons such as; use for their businesses, labor, and sex. Sadly, this has gone on for so long and it looks like there are no plans of stopping because it's easy to slide this illegal crime under the radar. With the big rise of social media, it is easier for pimps to lure children and adults into human trafficking. The article, Dirty Little Secrets, tells the story of a young girl named Keisha Head, who ran away after being molested at home, only to end up in the hands of a famous pimp. Sir Charles Pipkins lured 16 year old Keisha to him and forced her into working for him. He would send her out on the street to find men to please and was forced to bring back at least a thousand dollars every night. Human and sex trafficking isn't just being sold from one person to another, but along the way, victims are raped, abused and forever mentally changed. Finally, after a couple years, Sir Charles was put in prison for 30 years, although he deserved life. This goes to show how underrated human trafficking is and how easily it is overlooked by authorities and high-status people.
