Over just a few years in places in Europe over 6 million European Jews were killed in terrifying concentration camps. One of rare survivors, Elie Wiesel, was just a kid when he experienced this horrible event in history. 12 years later he wrote a memorable memoir called Night. Then, in 1999 he traveled to the U.S. to deliver a speech that is known as Parrels Of Indifference. Both the book and speech deliver a intriguing and opening message about his experience and what he took away from this event. I think the book, Night, paints a better picture than the speech because the book gives more detail and goes more in depth on the adventure he faced when he was in the holocaust.

I think the memoir called Night delivers Wieslel’s message in a unique and meaningful way. His message is informing people about this event so something like this doesn’t happen again. Elie Wiesel’s message of, informing people so something like this will not happen again comes up in the book a lot. This is a more effective of sending that moral than his speech. On page 40 he tells us his one of many experiences he came across. “Looking around me, I noticed that the barbed wire was behind us. We had left the camp” (Wiesel 40). In this quote he exemplifies his experience in a understandable way. I believe this is important so we can take in that part of the book. Another way he gets his point to us is by using figurative. On page 18 Wiesel uses an example of a simile. “Monday went by like a small summer cloud, like a dream in the first hour of dawn”(Wiesel 18).
