This commemorative coin was based off of the Capitol building in Colonial Williamsburg. The Capitol was where Patrick Henry gave his speech Caesar Brutus. This speech was very inspirational and important to the colonists. This is why on the front side of the coin Patrick Henry’s face is shown along with his famous words “Give me liberty, or give me death!” These very inspirational words are a sign of liberty which is why on the back is the Grand Union Flag.
Essay Revision Wendell Phillips speech was delivered during a time before equality was in existence. As people’s race played a crucial factor in society. During 1861 when the Civil War was in its beginning stages the Northerners were debating weather to allow African Americans to serve in the military. As that made sense to some since the whole point of the civil war was to abolish slavery in the South and obviously many African Americans wanted to fight for that ending goal, but others debated that using African Americans could put their army in jeopardy as they had no experience. Event though this was a conflict between abolitionist people who were strongly for abolishing slavery in the United States some Northerners were still hesitant in trusting Blacks as there was still racism.
During the revolutionary war time period many speeches were wrote based on a political stance. This was a time in American history where things could have turned out very different. Most of the speeches were used as propaganda to sway the public in either direction for or against, to go to war with the British. The Revolutionary War was for a good cause and it pivotal in making America what it is today. The founding fathers of our country all put in their opinion on what should do, whether we should go to war with the British or stay under the Kings arm and continue to pay the taxes.
The Sons of Liberty were much like modern day Isis. From burning houses to murder, they were a group of people no one dared to provoke. The famous rebel group took a stand against the British Parliament for what they believed was right. They gave colonists hope in not only their future, but also America’s future. The Sons of Liberty are important because they secured America’s future, showed bravery, and formed the Continental Congress.

Angry about unjust taxes and mistreatment from Great Britain’s military, the colonists decided to take matters into their own hands and declared the ultimatum: they defied the British crown and founded a new government. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence from June 1776 to July 1776 that regarded the thirteen colonies as independent states of a new nation and explained the reasons why America separated from the British Empire. One statement does summarize what the colonist fought for as well as the the overall rhetorical strength of the document. The American Revolutionary war was from 1775 to 1783, we were fighting the British for freedom. America was able to beat the British because of many heroes and leaders. Two such leaders and heroes were: Nathanael Greene and Patrick Henry. Nathanael Greene is a Hero and a leader in the battle of Guilford Courthouse.
