“Speech to the Troops at Tilbury” Analysis The “Speech to the Troops at Tilbury”, given by Queen Elizabeth I was a speech given to the troops as motivational speech. They were going into battle with the Spanish and knew they were overpowered and she received numerous assassination threats by them as well. In this speech, there are many representations of Courtly Love, The King’s Two Bodies, and the relationship between the Queen and her people.
