One example is when Butch Weldy said, “I shot up as the tank exploded, and down I came with both legs broken.”(lines 11,12) This is an example of karma because Butch Weldy caused Minerva Johns to get an abortion when he played her into thinking he liked her but just wanted to use her and ended up getting her pregnant. Minerva Jones said “And I sank into death, growing numb from the feet up.” (line 7). Another example is when Dora Williams said “He poisoned me, I think.”(line 20) This is Karma because she had killed previous husbands of hers for their fortune. For example, when she said, “One day they found him dead. That made me rich.” (lines 5,6). In the quote, she shows no sign of being upset, but just states that it made her rich. Dora Williams' karma ended up catching up to her and caused her to die the same way she had done in the past, murder. Additionally, Butch Weldy has another example of karma happening to him. Butch states “I sat on the witness stand as blind as Jack the Fiddler”(line 19,20) This is karma for all that he has put people through.
