Role and Importance in Ecosystem: Spotted grass frogs play a key role in its environment as they provide a source of food for predators, maintain the purity level in ponds, and aid in ensuring that the environment is kept healthy. These species live in diverse habitats and play several important ecological roles in the environment. If these frogs disappear from their habitat, the whole ecosystem will suffer. Spotted grass frogs are important in the environment as they provide food for other organisms. This allows other organisms to obtain their required energy in order for them to function. For example; a snake can easily obtains their energy by eating spotted grass frogs. A decrease in population of the frogs will make it a bit challenging for the snakes to obtain their food as the spotted grass frogs are not readily available. This can cause a decrease in the snake population. Baby spotted frogs also known as tadpoles are also very important in the environment. They help keep ponds and rivers clean by feeding on algae. By reducing the amount of algae in the water, it increases the oxygen level for the aquatic organisms. Without these tadpoles, the amount of algae in the water would increase, decreasing the oxygen level in the water. These frogs have permeable skin which allows the frogs to easily absorb toxic chemicals in the environment. Although this helps maintain a healthy environment, its leads to an extinction for these spotted grass frogs. The decrease in the spotted population should alarm us that the environment is unhealthy which is the reason why these frogs are suffering. By noticing the causes for an unhealthy environment, humans should do whatever is possible to reduce these causes in order to maintain the population of these spotted grass frogs (Save the Frogs,
