Abstract
This paper will cover the main aspects of St.John's University athletics. It will cover a constructed interview with David Masur, an associate athletic director and men's soccer coach at St.John's. He gives his insight on the St.Johns organization and the aspects needed for a successful and disciplined program. Some of the aspects that will be covered is the history, main issues, competitors,employment positions offered, mission, and purpose.

The St. John's Red Storm has 17 varsity athletic programs of St. John's University, in the U.S. state of New York. St. John's 16 NCAA Division I teams compete in the Big East Conference, with the exception of the fencing team, which compete in the ECAC (Daily News, 2013). “All competitors that are in division I and in the big five athletic conferences are competition for St.Johns which are ACC, Big Ten, SEC, Pac 12, Big 12 and then others like Colonial, Conference USA, MAC, America East etc…”(D.Masur, 2017). Some historic competitors include Georgetown University, Seton Hall University, Villanova University, and Marquette. To add on, Bleacher Report ranks the Seton Hall and St.Johns rivalry one of the best in the big east. John's stated,”Are goals are simple Win , Graduate , and serve the community, in addition college sports is an opportunity to reinforce character and values on a daily basis to continue to reinforce/build a foundation for life”. St.John's athletics teaches its student athletes the characteristics to be successful after college. The program pushes its students to not achieve in sports but in the classroom as well. They offer a student development program to help athletes that are struggling. St.Johns also wanted there sport programs to get more involved in the community, so last year the program had more than 2,500 hours of community service (Red Storm Sports, 2017).
St.John's University Athletics: Employment Positions Offered
The St. John's University Athletic Department offers a wide variety of jobs and internships for those interested in becoming a part of the Red Storm staff. For example, they offer jobs for athletics administration, athletics development, athletics events and programming, equipment operation, sports medicine, sports marketing, strength and conditioning, and student development for athletes. Everyone fulfills a certain role to create a hard working program. David Masur is the associate athletic director and soccer coach at St.John's. He is in charge making head decisions in the program.
