Now like you and I, most people have childhoods. Holiday was born on April 7th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The saint that I chose for my confirmation saint is Saint Kateri Tekakwitha. I chose her because of her story. The story of her conversion to Christianity and her extraordinary holiness was an inspiration to me when I was searching for saints. She was the first Native American Saint in the United States of America and Canada. When she was four, she contracted smallpox which left her face disfigured, impairing her eyesight, and depriving her of her parents.
Warrior Day C/Patel Warrior Day, a day in which AFROTC cadets face both mental and physical challenges in a competition amongst one another. For the AS100s like myself and AS250s, our first warrior day provided a unique experience which would only make ourselves better in the program. Warrior day consisted of a midterm evaluation, drill evaluation, warrior knowledge competition, and a physical training (PT) session. The first portion of Warrior Day consisted of a midterm exam on our warrior knowledge. The exam was quite easy for the cadets who spent time carefully studying all the knowledge learned throughout the knowledge.

What is known as, Bloody Sunday, during the War of Independence occurred on November 21, 1920. Throughout the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s, paramilitary violence in Northern Ireland had become very powerful due to the strive for equality between the Catholics and Protestants. The Republican paramilitaries, such as the Irish Republican Army and the Irish National Liberation Army, had the aim of using force to achieve a united Ireland, with equal rights and no connection to Britain. Whilst the Loyalist paramilitaries, such as the Ulster Volunteer Force and the Ulster Defence Organisation, had the aim of protecting and acting upon the violence that had been placed upon the Protestant civilians. Both paramilitary organisations participated in numerous acts of terrorism throughout the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s, which contributed to the growing
Joan of Arc was, and still is, a legendary figure in the world. Best known for her leadership and guidance during the Hundred Years’ War, Joan is the subject of many movies and writings in history books today because of her great bravery. Joan is known for her great skills as a saint and her abilities to be a stellar figurehead for the French soldiers. “One life is all we have, and we live it as we believe in living it. I got my first car the summer between my sophomore and junior year. It was a 2007 Ford Focus SES with a manual transmission. Learning how to drive a stick shift car was not as easy as I had expected it to be. I practiced a few times a week with my dad for the first couple months but could still rarely ever start from a stopped position without the engine dying at least once and the tires spinning a few times. It was very frustrating but one day a few weeks after my I had last practiced I decided to practice on my own by driving around the block while my dad was at work.
Helen Keller, famous author and social extremist, once said, “never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye”. These are the general intentions, individuals envision the perfect hero striving for, when they hear the word “hero” being articulated that just perhaps, a pure warrior is something more. Depicted as one of France’s iconic nationalist, Joan of Arc’s adolescence was obstructed by the distinction as a “peasant woman,” causing her to grow up around the beliefs of Christianity, establishing her as a faithful Christian.
Pope Benedict XVI clearly outlines in the statements that he made about the social justice issues that ‘Care for those who not only live near you, but those everywhere who may need it.’ St Vincent de Paul Society follows this statement as they are one of the many charity organisations who are part of the Catholic Church. St Benedict and his Rule are a great and helpful guide for Christian living as it sets a good example for what a peaceful and friendly life should be like with the people around you and God. The Rule of St Benedict allows Christians to get along well with each other and ways to live a good life. Prayer, (chapters 20 & 48) is one of the values contained in the Rule. As Christians, we are called to pray together as a group or individual, this is a good example of how people can connect with God. The value of Listening, (prologue) is also in the Rule.
In conclusion, in Tuesday with Morrie by Mitch Albom , Mitch and Morrie discussed many thing about the meaning of life ,such emotion, regret, and many other things. But there were three lessons that Morrie and Mitch talk about that appeals to me more than other which they’re love , forgiveness and death. Death was the most important lesson that Morrie they talk about. These three lessons were very meaningful to me because I had experience them in my life. To me love was leaving my sister, forgiveness was forgive my friend and death is losing my little cousin.
