The Battle of Mogadishu was the attempted capture of Somali leader Mohammed Aidid and his advisors by American soldiers in October, 1993. Staff Sergeant Eversmann was a major leader who showed integrity and perseverance throughout the battle. Matt Eversmann’s personality led him to being a strong leader, and overcoming the hardships he faced. Eversmann had the personality fit for a soldier. He was tough and perseverant. This caused him to become a great leader and hero in the war in Somalia.
