Stand and Deliver was a great movie with many lessons to learn. There were many characters in the movie that exhibited many behaviors and on-course principles, but I will talk about three that grabbed my attention more. The three characters that grabbed my attention the most was Angel, Pancho, and Mr. Escalante. Angel exhibited victim speak because he would in the beginning he was not in the right path. Angel hung out with cholo’s who did not care about school and did whatever they wanted. Angel was a smart kid but was around the wrong crowed. He was a victim because he did want to study and stay in school for his grandma. He had asked Kemo (Mr. Escalante) for books to keep at home so his “friends” would not see him with them. Also in the beginning of the movie Angel would have a repetitive behavior of showing up late to class, leaving early, or not show up at all, to be with his “friends”. Angel improved through out the movie and started to become a creator. He attended class and did his best. If and when he was late he would care and ask Kemo if he could stay. From a cholo not caring about attending class to passing the Calculus Exam Angel improved a lot. …show more content…
In the beginning of the movie Francisco, all he cared about was his job as a mechanic. HE would get frustrated with math. Francisco would want to give up in many occasions. He would want to give up easily in calculus. Pancho had an opportunity to a well paying job which he almost chose over his education. There was a scene where Francisco was trying to solve a problem on the board and was getting frustrated because he wasn’t able to solve it. He called himself stupid, and that he did not understand what he was doing. I started to see a change as a creator in Francisco after Mr. Escalante returned from the hospital. He begins to understand calculus better. He also id focused in school and doesn’t give
