The idea that Stanley exists in a wasteland is very evident in this story, and there are several reasons that support this idea. The depressing physical environment of where the story takes place is one reason. Stanley’s life prior to going to the camp also supports this idea. And since Camp Green Lake is where kids who have committed crimes go, the people at the camp are bound to have affected the atmosphere. To begin, Stanley’s physical environment isn’t a very positive place to be in.
The adventures in the a variety of trials, Stanley had to change to become a confident he was shaped into a strong and bold young man. Stanley eventually shared his thought with Zero, of going back to Camp to find treasure. “He wished it were true, but he knew they had no choice but to eventually return To Camp Green Lake,” (185) that quote proves how much more bold has become, He had gone back to camp green lake, while trying not to wake up the others, and dig up the treasure in success. I found this chapter interesting because it talked about how Greg and Rowley are going to make the movie and also how Gregs going to take the credit for it. The fifth event that happened in Diary of a Wimpy Kid Double Down was when Rowley climbed a tree because he got so scared that he thought the monsters in the movie were coming alive. I found this chapter interesting because it talked about how Greg Heffley could have become famous but Rowley took the credit because he was the one who climbed the tree. Multiculturalism, Europe’s grand experiment in expanded immigration, has failed in France. While France is known as a country of immigration, it struggles with its current identity as a multiculturalist society and its relatively recent secular principles have created what politicians are calling an ‘ethnic apartheid’. Although religious pluralism exists in France, its society has become primarily secular. As of March 2004 the French government has become a self-declared secular state, clearly stating that religious practice is strictly forbidden in public, as to refrain from instigating religious conflict or resentment. As a result, Muslim communities residing in various cities in France have become increasingly segregated from Western society.
