I am devoted to service and have spent the past four years improving my school and community. The activities and awards listed below represent my various interests and abilities. Throughout high school, I have challenged myself by embracing greater responsibilities in multiple organizations in order to make a positive difference. I would like to highlight my work with the National Honor Society (NHS). Currently, I am president of my school’s chapter. During my freshman year, my work and dedication were recognized by the advisor and she created the role of parliamentarian specifically for me. As a junior my peers elected me to be vice-president. I earned the position of president by my senior year. In acknowledgement of the effort I put into NHS, faculty members selected me to represent the student body at the school’s Dutchmen Foundation. At this Foundation, I am one of two student representatives who work with the Board of Trustees to successfully plan fundraisers for school enrichment projects. Most recently I was appointed secretary and chairperson of Annville-Cleona’s much beloved Mini-THON Committee. …show more content…

I truly enjoy sports and competitive athletics; I have competed in Kendo, a Japanese Martial Art, for years. I look forward to representing PSU on their Kendo team, which is coached by my father. Although I only joined the tennis team my senior year, I thoroughly enjoy the sport and will continue to play recreationally. Most importantly, I plan to serve and make a difference by pursuing a career in nursing, joining Penn State’s THON Committee, and following my passions in a lifelong pursuit as a PSU
