The mission statement for CASA is together with state and local member programs CASA supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child in the U.S. can be safe, have a permanent home and opportunity to thrive ("National Court Appointed). I really connect with CASA because in the future I would love to either foster, adopt or both. I would love to give a permanent home to a child who has no real place to call home. At the sisterhood retreat we had a CASA advisor come to us talk about her job.

Doug. Respectfully, your either a ineffective board member or your intentionally misleading folks. My finger is pointing directly at the truth. My proof is solid.
The first big turning point you'll see in Bilbo is where he meets Gollum in Chapter 5. At the beginning of this chapter, we see Bilbo separated from the group in a cave and see him alone for the first time in a book. Then he tries to get out of the cave and finds the ring in the process. After finding the ring, he encounters Gollum. He and Gollum play a puzzle game to decide whether to eat Bilbo or show the way.

For the past ten years, I have called Fresno home and have immersed my career in its community working in low-income and under-developed communities. My passion began early when I worked for Fresno’s Economic Opportunities Commission in their Summer Lunch Program. During this time, I was able to explore and learn about the city I lived in.
Allow me to introduce myself, I am Bryan Le, a freshman that is currently attending a charter school by the name of “Downtown College Prep”. I am currently living with my parents and two younger siblings, one brother and one sister. Over my years in a public elementary school, I had seen others being happy because of one’s help and that made me feel happy inside. I then thought of ways to help others when I stumbled upon the fact that doctors help people everyday, which seemed as a great way to help many people so that they may continue to be happy in life. As I entered Downtown College Prep, I was urged by the staff to explore my options and to set a goal in life.
From Mr. steal yo’ crayons to a young 18 year old man. Truly thankful to have been able to maintain focus and strive closer to my goals each and every day. A major accomplishment that I have attained so far, would be competing and being selected to represent Oregon at various symposiums and conferences throughout my high school career. Thus far, I have been granted scholarships and have had the ability to travel to large cities and beautiful states such as Camarillo, California; Chicago, Illinois; Washington D.C.; and will soon be travelling to Atlanta, Georgia. From conducting scientific field studies around Channel Island University in California to strolling down the streets of D.C. using a blend of my Hispanic and American mindset to present
Just as with many of my previous academic moments it continued the drive I had already had. While my education continued to teach me valuable lessons and give me hands on experience I began to gain a stronger sense rooted in development and the protection of others by hopefully continuing my education at Loyola University Chicago in the Masters of Social Work/Masters of Arts in Social Justice Program which would give me the opportunity to not only eventually become a social worker with the Department of Social Services (DSS), with a school, or a guardian ad litem but to do that work effectively with the chance that would be afforded to me of an academic background steeped in social work as well as social justice teachings. This program in particular continues the undergraduate work and furthers my education on my path to my
I represent home-grown leadership. My background is uniquely suited to serve our city. I was RAISED in Folsom. I care about Folsom, both issues we’ve faced previously, & those we will face in the future. I'm an entrepreneur, utility commissioner, a father, volunteer coach & a professional security expert.
Every dime I earn working at Reynolds Community College and every grant and scholarship I receive will go towards my passion of studying human behavior and applying everything I learn to bringing every community I can reach, a giant leap forward. After receiving my associates degree in Social a Science I decided to take a year off to work towards finding what it is that I really want to pursue. I have searched for that 'something ' that will keep me intrigued and awake all hours of the night without realizing it. I have eliminated the idea of simply working to make ends meet or finding a good job to support my family and "living" outside the 40+ hours of a weekday job. I am pursuing much more and I am confident that I have found a path leading me to wake up before my alarm clock sounds instead of praying for more time.
What we are taught and where we come from, makes up the majority of who we are and helps influence the decisions we perform in everyday society. Proudly, I’m from Kings Mountain, a modest place, as a result of living here it has impacted me in a variety of phenomenal ways, from the way I communicate to the way I act. Due to the fact of living in Kings Mountain, I have been introduced to a variety of opportunities, for example, my current school, Cleveland Early College High School. I have been accepted into outstanding programs that, in turn, has helped me to achieve my objectives and future plans. Although, I attend this tremendous school I tend to envision about how it would have been similar to attending a traditional high school, I was originally suppose to represent Kings Mountain High, but I decided that I wished to pursue something outside of what I considered I could reach.
I have overcome difficult challenges in my pursuit of education. I fell behind on my credits, which was the hardest situation to pull myself up from. I caught up and past my colleagues. I am more than ready to further expand my education beyond graduating high school. I am striving to make myself rise above the rest.
When I received the devastating news of saying goodbye to my “perfect” life it had a significant impact, but I have come to realize that not all life adjustments are destined to be ill-fated. Driving away from the High School Musical sing-alongs, neighborhood adventures, and spontaneous sleepovers with my best friends was truly heartbreaking but at the time I didn’t understand the upcoming possibilities moving would bring because I was so focused on
