Purpose and points preview: Why I am interested in occupational therapy, my future plans to accomplish this, and the education needed
For my career I chose occupational therapy, which is a type of therapy that encourages rehabilitation through daily activities.
The reason why I chose this career was because I wanted to help people by being in the medical field, but I didn’t like the part of “hurting” people while trying to “fix” them, so occupational therapy was my best choice. …show more content…

When I was 8, I had an accident that caused a severe break in my left arm, soon after I got my cast taken off I was prescribed to take occupational therapy to build my muscles in my arm. By taking occupational therapy I had an interest in the career and believed that I would be good at it and like it, so I wanted to be one.
To become an occupational therapist I plan to go to college at Colorado State University after I graduate High School. After I graduate I hope to work at an occupational clinic somewhere, and hopefully they would let me work with an animal like a dog. I also think it will be cool to be a traveling occupational therapist so that I could see the world and help other people in other countries.
I know that I need to study kinesiology, psychology, anthropology, biology, and sociology as an undergraduate. I will need a Bachelor's degree and possibly a Master’s
