When the chief was promoted to his current position, a captain was placed in charge of the patrol division. The captain and the chief have very different management styles.

Every Resident Advisor (RA) answers the on-call phone with a bit of apprehension, but when the caller tells you that they are concerned that their friend may hurt herself physically, all your nerves stand on edge. It was this experience and others like it that reaffirmed my decision to pursue a career in the Healthcare field with a specific interest in mental health. My life’s journey began on a small multiracial island where we believed and practiced “every creed and race find an equal place,” these words taken from our country’s national anthem. In our multicultural society, religion played a large role in influencing the societal norms and practices which were of a conservative nature.
As I am quickly approaching the end of my senior, I am looking back at how far I have come since freshman year and everything that Henley High School has helped me accomplish in my life. In preparation for the life that every senior must experience after school, the senior capstone project was put in place to help seniors find out what they would suit them as career and give them some of the necessary tools in achieving that. Part of the capstone was earning service hours at a non profit organization, that can go on a resume. With serving came a facilitator, who guides one’s service, and also the challenges and success of the service itself. Opening To the Adult World In The novel, The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros, the protagonist, Esperanza discovers that “One cannot help those who will not help themselves.” Written in third person point of view, the author supports her theme by describing the setting of Mango Street, establishing the central conflict through her neighbors. This affects the work as a whole because Cisneros purpose is to open Esperanza’s eyes to the adult world through her role models Sally, Marin, and Alicia. Cisneros includes a mood of anxiety for the teenage reader. The authors treatment of teenage issues relates to the overall meaning of the novel showing “that growing up is difficult especially for young adults.”
The transition from enlisted into the ranks of officer is not a situation that anyone should take lightly. With greater rank comes greater responsibility, I emphatically understand the prestige and responsibility that comes with this transition. In this essay, I will answer three questions. Why do I want to be a military officer? What does society expect from me as a military officer?
As I embark on the newest chapter in my life it occurs to me that I must first take time to fully process and appreciate the magnitude of what it really is to be a Warrant Officer in the United States Army. From my own perspective as well as the perspective seen from society I can see my new responsibilities will hold a paramount position in many different aspects. This being said, I can look forward to a major shift in what my focus will be and how my decisions will directly impact those around me. My personal desire to become a Warrant officer stems from my constant thirst to grow and influence my surroundings.

Social work is a career that I have recently become interested in pursuing. I spent many years with misconceptions concerning the sector.
