Stephen King is one of the most prolific writers of all time. Despite his love for horror, he is an author of several other major works including poetry, children’s books, and science fiction, being influenced by that of H.P. Lovecraft, Richard Matheson and Edgar Allen Poe (Stephen KIng.) All of King’s works have been successful, including “The Man in the Black Suit”, which won a World Fantasy Award in 1995 (Marwick.) They then find out there are evil spirits found in a Satanic Bible. Resulting in failure, they tried burning the Bible, leading to a giant, psychotic worm escaping and then killing Calvin. Shortly after, Boone commits suicide. The family of Gerald Lumley are caught in a severe thunderstorm and are stopped on the side of the road. Gerald travels along the road to find help but fails. However, when he comes back, he comes to see his family had been turned into vampires. King says, “i’ve always believed that if you think the very worst, no matter how bad things get.. They’ll never get as bad as that. If you write a novel where the boogeyman gets somebody else’s children; maybe they’ll never get your own children (Marwick.) The cinematic style of King’s works, influenced by Edgar Allen Poe, led many of the novels and stories of King to be adapted into successful screenplays and motion pictures (Stephen King.) Several have been adapted into films such as “It”, which was first published in 19986 and refurbished in 2017, with a second chapter releasing in 2019.
