The Dream Stephen King is the bestselling novelist who made his name in the horror and fantasy genres wrote, “Books are uniquely portable magic.” (A Memoir of The Craft). Each book I have recent experienced the magic of a book. The Man with Two Shadows and Other Ghost Stories open my eyes to the wonder of literature. The Man with Two Shadows and Other Ghost Stories, consists of a compilation of short stories and my favorite one is The Dream by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu (1838). I appreciate the unpredictable way this genre leads the reader through many emotions. The dream describes a careless man who falls down the stairs. He goes to hell as a warning that he must change the way he lives (Le Fanu14). I was shocked at the end of the story, to learn that the protagonist is not being haunted by a ghost, but is himself is a ghost (Le Fanu15). Though The Dream’s mysterious story, I find myself thinking deeply then ever before. The Dream is a combination mystery /horror bizarre story that I found myself thinking a lot that The Dream carried a positive message, which I have been attract with. The Dream sent a great lesson to me, that one day I will be just a memory for some people. I need to do my best to be a good one. In addition, I think that The Dream inspire ideas and ways of thinking that have the power to transform our lives. On the other hand, The Dream makes reading a priority in my college life because reading in an exciting place to live in, that helps me to more creative.
