Zawahir Faheem Ms.Clarke ENGL 1301, 10 October 2014 Thinking about a movie with stereotyping as a subject, the very first movie which comes into my mind is “The Breakfast Club”. The movie is directed by John Hughes. The movie shows that how easily we make decisions about people in our first encounter with them. Thats exactly what “stereotyping” is. The movie starts with five high school students coming for a Saturday detention as a punishment for doing something wrong. The principle named as Mr. Vernon(The Breakfast Club) asked them to write an essay telling who they really are and why they are here. The five main characters of this movie are Andrew(sportsman),Brian(nerd),Bender(Failure),Allison(weirdo) and Claire(rich kid).Any high school student can relate to these characters. But as the movies progresses, they came to realize that all of them basically wore masks to hide their actual problems. They are too afraid to be different or being judged by the people.
