When I was in English class in 8th grade, our teacher performed a test on us, which we were unaware of until it was over. During class the teacher began to berate a student, calling the student unintelligent and lazy. This was a student that other people may have viewed as “unmotivated” or a “burnout” when she was in fact, very intelligent. But because she was commonly stereotyped, the teacher began to pick on this student. The student was well aware that the teacher was doing this as an experiment in her class. But very few students thought anything of it.
