The issue of homelessness is an ongoing problem that happens everywhere all over the world. It happens in most towns and states all over, even to the most unexpected people or ones you would never know about. In a given year there are up to 3.5 million homeless Americans. (studentsagainsthunger.org) In addition a lot of homelessness is not pre consumed many people that are homeless often suffer mental illness, job loss, these things can lead to traumatic experiences and may be hard to pick yourself back up and you get so lost in the bad its more comfortable no to deal with it, then to help you and your family out. We as people have made a stereotype for homeless people, that perhaps there crazy, they’re dirty, we don’t know what they are capable of, but yes in fact they are people, and they are not just some trash cans on the side of the road, you see them all the time and don’t go near it if its not yours, you don’t want to be near other peoples garbage, but we all have a story me, you everyone we all have a background and why we are where we are …show more content…

We have to show them the same respect we want to be treated with they are people just like all of us, if you have a few dollars to someone that appears to need it more and you know it wont affect you, why not? Especially now during the holidays and as it gets colder I think we all have a warm spot for the homeless, we should be forever grateful for the chances and opportunities we have by having a roof over our heads and a warm place to sleep. We should help those out in times of need, people often neglect if they would ever happen to be in that position for whatever reason how they would feel, I know id like to have some kind of help, we all would. But until we know who they are we don’t know anything and I’m sure they are decent people. Yes they may look a certain way and may talk and act differently but most of them didn’t have the moral support that most of us have, and in my opinion that is something I do not ever take for granted that means so much to
