Don’t always judge a book by its cover. People often go into defence mode when they see a pitbull. They are not as violent or aggressive as generally thought. Often pitbulls are aggressive because the owner makes the dog that way. Sadly pit bulls started getting the bad stereotype “bad dog” due to people training them to be aggressive. Mat Jobe said “ Pit Bulls were often used in bear baiting, a blood sport in which were publicly tortured for the entertainment of onlookers” (10 terribly). Even in early days people used pit bulls for so called entertainment. In an ASPCA article it says “ baiting large animals was outlawed, people turned to fighting dogs against each other” ( Position Statement). Robin Rock said “ Even if pit bulls does not like other dogs, they typically love humans and are happiest when they are with us” ( 10 reasons). Big stereotype is that they are means aggressive dogs but they aren’t. When you think of the bad side of them. They were once actually for babysitting. Yes that's how loyal and loving they are. Pit Bulls were so loyal and trusting people used them to watch their kids.
