Mr. Nesbitt Murder trial Criss Jami once said “When good people consider you the bad guy, you develop a heart to help the bad ones. You actually understand them.” Steve Harmon was on trial for murder. He was a 16 year old boy who got charged for murder in New York City and he didn’t do the crime. In the novel, Monster, by Walter Dean Myers, Steve Harmon was a good person because he was not guilty and he cared for others. Steve was a good person because he was not guilty. In his journal when he said he didn’t kill Mr. Nesbitt. The author wrote, “I didn’t kill Mr. Nesbitt.” (Myers 140). It was in flashback when Steve and Jerry were talking about superheroes. The author wrote, “‘I bet you’d be a cool superhero.You know who you should be? … Batman. Then I could be Robin.”’ (Myers 58). It proves he is a good person. It's like two people can go together and save people at night time or day time.This made him a good person, because he is talking to his brother and having fun talking about things and he doesn’t wanna break a bond between his brother and him so he cares for him so much. This made him a good person once again, because he loves his family so much and he probably never wants to lose them, he seems like he would never do a crime because he is so nice. In addition, In his journal he says that he misses his brother and he wants to be with him but he can’t because he is in jail. The book said, “I wish Jerry were here. Not in jail, but somehow with me.” (Myers 205). It proves he is good because he cares about his family. He loves his brother very much and wants to see him again. This made him a good person, because it is showing that he cares about other people and he is showing that he is scared to be in jail and he misses his family. His family knows he is a good kid and he loves going to school and loves his brother.
