The Word Before Atari
Most people don't know the reason why Steve Jobs decided to name his company Apple, the reason is because it is the word before Atari in a phone book. Steve Jobs went from dropping out of Reed college in 1974 to starting one of the most valuable companies of the world. Awhile after befriending Steve Wozniak, a fellow Hewlett-Packard employee, these two innovative thinkers soon began setting up shop in Steve Jobs’ parents’ garage. This Tech Enthusiasts begin to design and create, a small computer what was just a hobby for Wozniak but a great technological opportunity for Jobs. The Apple II was one of the first computer to draw attention due to it being fully programmable. “In 1977 Jobs and Wozniak created the Apple II, which set off a revolution in the industry. It was a hit in the market and did amazing in sales with a far price of $1,298 for a 4kb model and $2,638 with a 48kb model.
