Steve Jobs is a pioneer of technology today. He is a co-founder of the product Apple along with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. He made many different product that people use in their everyday life. Because of Steve Jobs, technology has changed tremendously.But he wasn’t born a pioneer of technology it took a lot time to become influential to society today. He also had a job at the Westgate Mall in San Jose dressing up as Alice in Wonderland character, he made $3 an hour. Later he had a video game job with Atari in 1974, but he left the job to do some spiritual healing in India. While in India he experimented with psychedelic drugs. He also began practicing Zen Buddhism. Atari later called him back to work on a project known as the Break-out game. It was the first computer that came in color, the Apple II also had half as many chips as the Apple I and ran alt faster. It had high resolution and sound. Jobs went to look for investors after the Apple II was built. He talked to many venture capitalists. Don Valentine was the first to show up but he turned Jobs and Wozniak down. Although he turned them down he gave their name to an investor named Mike Markkula. Mike Markkula was a former Intel employee who retired early but made millions. The company received 300 orders for Apple. The first year sales was about $2.7 million. The company sales grew in 3 years to about $200 million. The Apple II was apart of the computer revolution in the 1980’s. Jbs had to compete with many different computer programs. Apple was not the only computer program out there. There were many different competing computer programs such as the Commodore PET or Radio Shack’s TRS-8. But what made Apple II different was the spreadsheet program called VisiCalc. VisiCalc worked only on the Apple II. This program helped millions of accountants, and small business manage their money easier. They could do calculations in minutes rather than weeks by hand. Early in 1979 Jobs invented a computer with a user-friendly mouse. This new product was called “Lisa”, named after his estranged daughter. Also an acronym for "Local Integrated Software Architecture". Lisa was made for large businesses. Apple said the Lisa would increase
