Dedication Turns into Innovation

Apple has become one of the most pivotal companies of technology over the past decades. One of their most famous co-founders, Steve Jobs, was overly credited rather than his partner Steve Wozniak. Jobs was the chief executive officer of the company, so most people knew him for that management. The success for Jobs didn’t come easy as people viewed this perception and his journey to the face of technology.
Steve Jobs was born February 24, 1955. He was put up for adoption as an infant. Later he was adopted by a couple he had no relation to. The couple was named Paul and Clara Jobs. It wasn’t until 1976 when they invented their first product. At this time there were very few models of computers and a wide range of potential for innovation. In fact this was prior to the actual innovation stage of America. Their first product was called the Apple I and the retail price of that time was $666.66. This particular subject is interesting because technology’s purpose is to meet the needs of people. While that purpose is constantly being fulfilled, it’s also scary because there’s no definite answer to what product can be produced, like multitasking robots, in the near future. The first computer of the company had many unique specifications, but the main one that stood out was its keyboard. Although it seems as if the company had found their fortune, Jobs still experienced complications internally and externally in terms of the company. “Like Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, Jobs never graduated from college.” (Linn 8) Jobs was actually separated from the company he co-founded. It is a great boost for America’s economy. “Add it all up and the Apple brand is worth $124.2 billion and almost twice as much as any other brand in Forbes’ annual study of the world’s most valuable brands,” says Badenhausen. (Badenhausen 3) Some of their new products include the Ipod, Iphone, Mac, Apple Tv, and many accessories. The world is now buzzing about its upcoming touchscreen watch. There are touchscreen watches available currently but not under the brand of Apple. Whenever it releases, their competitors will be rattled and anxious to put out a similar product. Microsoft is one of Apple’s known competitors. Microsoft competes with Apple in a variety of ways. Both companies are the leading producers of high quality technology in America. At the number one spot, Apple has many more competitors than just them. Samsung competes with Apple's Iphone every year. In their ads the company targets Apple like a side-by-side comparison. Currently Samsung is about to release their signature phone, Samsung Galaxy S6, to compete on the market with the Iphone 6. Microsoft does a better job of competing than Samsung in all aspects. Their brand is much bigger than Samsung but they all have the same vision. Google on the other hand is a silent opponent. Google competes indirectly by creating software and apps to challenge Apple’s smaller objectives. Since Apple already has a strong established brand it will be hard for these companies
