Since the mid to late 1970’s the evolution of the Personal Computer has been the dominant force with the Information Age of Technology. The two individuals that were the most successful too date of this phase were Bill Gates with Microsoft and Steve Jobs with Apple. The products that these two individual companies have developed are being used both in business and/or personal usage. Now let’s look at each individual and then their relationship together. In 1981 Apple Computer went public. In 1985 Apple pushed Jobs to resign when the CEO wanted him out, Jobs was only 30 years old. Instead of being devastated by being fired, Jobs went on to create other company's like NEXT and Pixar. Jobs had said that getting fired was good for him and Apple eventually bought his company NEXT. Advice that Jobs had given to college graduates at Stanford was to love what you do, and that time is limited so don’t live someone else's life. Jobs was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in 2003. He went on to have surgery to remove the tumor in 2004 and lived for another 7 years before dying on October 5, 2011. Jobs even said that it would be destructive to be in a competition with Microsoft and that Apple had to realize that there weren't competing. Steve Jobs even called Bill Gates to smooth things over and the companies eventually worked together. In 1977 the Apple 2 computer came out and it had some Microsoft software programmed in it and it cost Apple $31,000 dollars for Microsoft's help. Gates even flew out to Apple for two days to help perfect the Apple 2 computer. The companies even created the Macintosh
