Steve Jobs: The Man Who Revolutionized Computers Steve Jobs changed the computer industry by creating the foundation for for the way personal computers should be created.He was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California, and his parents quickly put him up for adoption when he was very young(Karen). His new family then moved to Palo Alto, California where Steve made friends with Steve Wozniak, future Apple Computer founder(Karen). At an early age, Steve was always tinkering with things he could find, and he and “Woz”, Steve Wozniak’s nickname, eventually built devices called blue boxes that allowed them to have free long distance phone calls(Karen). They ended up selling these devices for $300 each to people that they knew(Karen). Apple Computer was formed on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ron Wayne, who quickly left the company(Karen). Their first logo was Sir Isaac Newton sitting under apple tree with an apple glistening in the background. Over the years, Apple Computer changed their logo several times. The Apple II was officially announced to the public on April 15, 1977 at the West Coast Computer Faire in San Francisco, CA(Karen). The Apple II was far better than the Apple I in many ways. First, it allowed people to create their own programs, which pleased many computer programmers(Karen). It also used Microsoft’s software, which made many people angry at Steve Jobs(Karen).
