Risk reduction evaluation strategy The Village of Stone Park has a number of risk for such a small village, however being that is village is mostly created of residential homes there is an increase of certain risk factors. One risk that Stone Park can focus on the three fuel stations that are located within the town. The village can put together a highly detailed plan of the steps and the needed fire apparatus in the case that are is a fire at one of the stations. Plans will both save lives, i.e. evacuations, as well as reduce property damage to both the gas station and surrounding structures. Having a risk reduction strategy in place will also protect the citizens that would be driving past these stations, are goal to provide a safe environment to the residents of Stone Park and the commuters who drive through the village each day. …show more content…

The model is used to compare the five (5) risk reduction strategies: (1) Forming a committee, (2) Evaluating your local community for risks, (3) Prioritizing the risks, (4) Generating risk reduction strategies, (5) Implementing strategies.
Model

2) The committee with evaluate all risks the fuel station fire has to the village residents, business owners, and motorist.
3) Risk that are gathered by the committee will be ranked in order, from the highest to the lower priority.
4) The committee will then create a risk reduction strategy dealing with these risks.
5) The committee will establish strategies of the three highest ranked risks; however, other risks will be address once these three risks have been completed.
Actions
1) The mayor will construct a committee formed by the following members:
a. Fire Chief
b. Police Chief
c. Head of Public Works
d. Board of trustees
e. Gas station
