The timepiece has become an essential part of human's daily life since its first emergence in Europe in the 13th century. With the article entitled "Stop the clock: The tyranny of the timepiece" which was written by Roman Krznaric and published in 2012 by the Guardian, the author himself criticizes this technological invention as the negative influence on human’s routines based on other knowledgeable writers with overt examples of human fighting against time in the hope of utilizing it most efficiently. For Da Vinci’s painting, the author states that Da Vinci needs not to check his time while painting. What is omitted here is the fact that artists’ objectives are unique and different from many other jobs. The artists pursue the quality of their work not the quantity of it, and that is the main reason why they can ignore time. Thus, the author cannot compare the artists’ ways of living to those with different career. For the approach of author Eco, Krznaric states that Eco does things at double pace in the hope that he can live twice as much as the rest of people. It is true that the influence of timepiece changes human to become human doings, but what is omitted here is the fact that one voice of human cannot judge the rest of us. What can be proved is the statistic of human’s behavior changes according to the timepiece by the population not by a voice.
In conclusion, the article entitled “Stop the clock: The tyranny of the timepiece” interestingly introduces many stunning facts of how people are unaware of the negative influence on the technological invention. The author does not only states that it changes human behavior in today's society, but, it, in fact, changes us human beings since in the middle ages or when the clock was first introduced.
