The Story Of Arnold There are many ways we can show respect. One important way to show respect is by treating others how you would like to be treated. This is called the Golden Rule. If we don't respect people, we cannot expect them to respect us. Another way to show respect is by caring for our land and another person’s property. If someone vandalizes somewhere it may be expensive to restore. It would also not be not as nice to see or visit. The following story illustrates the consequences of a disrespectful old man, who treated people and property poorly. Once there was an old man named Arnold, who was very grumpy. He was saying his neighbor Bill, was a thief because he was angry that his kids were too loud at night. He could not fall to sleep, but Bill definitely was a nice man trying to raise good kids. The old man continued to tell everyone that Bill was a thief, but he was not. This got out of hand and the police arrested Bill. Later, the police found Bill was innocent. The old man was sent to jail for three months for falsely blaming Bill. …show more content…

He said that the janitor was out to get him because the janitor would not clean his cell and it got very dirty. The police didn't believe him and gave him less rations of food. The janitor did intentionally skip his cell because Bill was the janitor’s brother. The old man got the dirtiest cell because he lied and blamed the janitor’s brother. Later when Arnold was released from jail ,he went to the bank to withdraw some money.
