In the short story by Kate Chopin, The Story of the Hour it is a true thriller and helps evoke the feeling of love, desperation and companionship throughout the short story. The Author Kate Chopin does a fabulous job at incorporating sensory imagery throughout her short story. This creates the audience who is reading her story to feel the pain that main character Louise Mallor feels when she hears that the train her husband is on had a catastrophic accident that left all people on board dead. Moments passed, seconds to be honest, but at the time those seconds felt like hours. My left knee was having severe pain, the same knee a few years ago I encountered when I suffered a soccer injury were I surgery operated on. All I remember was a random bystander helping me out the car and paramedics showing up and as well as the local police officers. On the way to the hospital I was crying sad I knew inside my heart that my senior football cheer season was going to end. I was in a state of very much sadness I could relate to Louise a lot when I was reading The Story of the Hour. After having my surgery I could relate a weight of uncertainty just be lifted I was emotionally happy and had the privilege of been taken care of by my father who does not live in the state and as well as my mom for making sure all the procedures were properly administered and as well as the patience of my boyfriend for helping me everyday at school and home. In the quote in The Story of the Hour: “When the doctors came they said she had died of heart disease—of joy that kills. “ (Chopin) I could relate to this quote because after everything happened and my passion and love being taken from me in my senior year of highschool I had huge sense of relief and happiness just pouring out of me because I just wanted to move on from this unfortunate
