A storyteller might tell us what 's going to happen beforehand to keep us intrigued. If the storyteller hints at what 's going to happen they only tell part of it, so the reader doesn 't know the whole story and will have to keep reading to find out the whole explanation. The storyteller could use foreshadowing to give the reader a piece of the story but not everything. Once the reader sees the use of foreshadowing or a hint that the storyteller left they will want to keep reading to find out how that part happened. The storyteller also adds mystery to the book because the reader knows what happened but doesn 't know if it goes deeper than just the surface. It 's everything in the middle that really makes up the story not just the beginning or ending and the storyteller portrays this by telling us before it happens. For example some books or movies start with the ending and then cut to the beginning because this leaves the viewer or reader confused and wondering what happened so then they want to keep reading or watching to find out why that piece occured. It also leaves the rest of the story up to interpretation until the reader actually finds out what happened. Readers don’t want a boring story that goes simply from start to finish they want a twist with sprinkles of mystery and wonder.
