Strangers Fall in Love
“Love between strangers only takes a few seconds and can last a whole life” says Simon Van Booy. The second the two strangers, Romeo and Juliet, meet, they instantly fall in love. Throughout the play, they show multiple signs to the audience that they love each other. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet were truly in love by how they are inseparable, they are protective of each others safety and they are in love from the first time they lay eyes on each other. Romeo and Juliet would rather die than be separated from each other. While talking to Juliet during the balcony scene, Romeo says, “With love’s light wings did I o 'erperch these walls, for stony limits cannot hold love

When Romeo first sees Juliet he says, “Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night… Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne 'er saw true beauty till this night.” (1.5.42-43 and 50-51). Romeo saw here beauty and was awestruck by her causing him to fall in love with her. They have never met before and Romeo going to the party was fate for them to meet. When they finally do end up having a conversation, Romeo says, “If I profane with my unworthiest hand this holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.” (1.5.92-96). In other words, he is saying that Juliet is a holy shrine and he really wants a kiss from her. Romeo and Juliet continue to show their affection between themselves at the Capulet’s party and to the balcony scene. Their love for each other is true as they fell in love at first sight. In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet are definitely in love. The couple are inseparable and end up killing themselves because they can’t bare to be seperated. Throughout the play, they keep each other safe and out of trouble from their parents. And lastly, the couple experienced love at first sight with each other and bonded as if they had already known each other for years.
