Characterization is how authors reveal characters and their personalities. In the book A Streetcar Named Desire Tennessee Williams does an amazing job bringing each and every character in the book to life from the little boy Blanche runs into on the street to Stanley the over opinionated man. Stanley is a man that in looks every women would dream in having. However Stanley´s Violent acts, Backstabbing, and being a pervert is just a couple things that no women would ever want in a man. The part that no one can understand is exactly why Stanley would want to do that due to the idea that Blanche is Stella's sister. Stanley´s brilliant idea was to wait until Stella was gone and then things started to get a little more intense. ¨ Oh! So you want some rough-house! All right, let's have some rough-house (Williams, 2004, p. 162)!¨ In this quote that stanley sternly says to Blanche as he advances towards her while she tries to fight back. After Blanches falls to her knees Stanley picks up her very weak body and puts her on the bed. Stanley also has another interesting thing about him the only thing he really wants is poker and sex because everytime that Stella and him fight, they always make up by having sex or by making
