A long time resident of Starkfield, the protagonist Ethan Frome shows he is considerate by caring for and helping others. He first shows this trait when he gives up his desire to live in a city to support his ill mother. Though he has a strong wish to leave Starkfield, he respects his duty and cares for his mother. Ethan also shows this attribute to Zeena, by looking after her and contributing to her medicine while she also falls ill. Zeena is again thought of by Ethan when the pickle dish breaks.

I believe the statement is wrong, because there is no such thing as a "weak person". To be considered a weak person, you would have to be weak at everything. Everyone has their strong capabilities, just like how everyone has their weak capabilities. There is no way with all the possibilities on Earth, that you could
When things got out of control, she always dug her feet in and stood her ground. Grace's way of taking control is by being strong and speaking with a strong tone leaving no room for negotiation. Resilience is what you need if you wanna be strong and hold power. Even when you are scared and want to give up, you need to stay strong and stick to your plan, and Grace resembles that flawlessly. Although her opinions and moments of power can be seen as rude and close-minded, having to voice those opinions can be hard.
Being a survivor is a huge accomplishment that doesn 't come easy. There are many hardships that come along with the title survivor. A survivor is a person who survives, especially a person remaining alive after an event in which other have died or a person who copes well with difficulties in their life. Three important traits to be a survivor are stamina, logic, and bravery. {Olivia} First of all, in the story Trapped the main character, Aron Ralston uses stamina during his hike in Blue John Canyon when a boulder crushes his arm.
“Heroes are made in the hour of defeat.” This quote, by the late Mahatma Gandhi, who was an Indian activist, perfectly encapsulates the meaning of a hero. A hero is someone who stands up for what he or she believes in, and confronts the evils that the person may face, no matter how big or small those evils may be. This is exhibited in both Harper Lee's Atticus from To Kill a Mockingbird, and Markus Zusac's Hans Hubberman and Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief. Just like the quote eludes to, these characters stay resilient even when there seems to be no hope.
As soon as the assault that Stella witnessed out of her window, she calls the police. She was too in shock and scared to go check on the girl or to try and catch the assaulters, but she contributed by contacting the police immediately. Even though the police barely acknowledge her and question her sense of judgement, she continues to give them all the information she had seen and heard outside her window in hopes she could help the small women who were the victim. When Stella found out the victim had been her niece, she finds her self-worth within herself which is confidence in the seven C’s of resilience. Character means enjoying and recognizing a strong sense of self-worth, one who is in touch with their values and demonstrates a caring attitude to those around them.
A Hero goes out to conquer some foe, either an evil force or an actual villain in order to obtain an important object or completely vanquish the villain so that they can re-establish order in their world. It invariably involves a battle between good and evil. The Heroine, however, goes on a quest to find herself. Like Dorothy, her journey is about finding her own strength and value. In other words, coming to the conclusion that she does not need anything outside herself to validate her
Other than this and the bravery and courage it took to get through the suitors. She didn’t do that much. She's a hero, but arguably and opinionatedly, she's a background character who had to do what she had to do. A person once said “there is no main character, just many characters doing what they have to, to survive.” (Unknown.)
Io9. Keith Veronese, n.d. Web. 08 Dec. 2014.) In a way, he became a stronger person because now he had to prove that if he could fight through a terrible disease, he could fight through anything.
Heroism is defined in many ways, some people 's definition is a description of some type of superman; the ability to fly, very muscular, and a long red cape that follows their every move, but a true act of heroism is someone who is not only strong, but also brave and willing to make a sacrifice. One trait a hero needs to have is the ability to be strong, not just physically, but mentally. Being strong helps the hero with whatever difficulty gets thrown at them. In the song, “Be a Man” in the movie Mulan, Mulan is faced with a series of trials that show to us that she is trying her best and not giving up, revealing she is mentally strong. This leads on to the idea that heroism is someone who does not concede quickly.
In my opinion, the author of this short story, conveys an important theme to his/her readers about strength. The individual used numerous literary devices to support his/her universal message however two stood out the most: imagery and the setting. Imagery which is the use of word choice that triggers our senses. " With the grace of a seasoned warrior and a sweep of hardened steel, she defied highway robbers, struck down wild beasts, and shielded them from the power of angry gods", this quote accurately describes the character's strenght and it appeals to our vision, feel, and hearing senses.

The first main character Celie is a 14-year-old who was raped and is being treated as property by her father. A character trait that Celie has shown is that she is strong. For example, she was able to take care of her younger siblings and both her mom and their new mammy who were both sick and after she was married, she was able to take care of Mr._____ kids.
This strength and willpower led to her saving, although partly done by a prince, and her ability to regain her
Where in this world can you ever find that kind of strength? “Perhaps strength doesn’t reside in having never been broken, but in the courage required to grow stronger in the broken places. (Jongen)” When someone thinks of what it means to have strength, most people think of a muscular person, perhaps a gym junkie, an Olympic gold medalist, or a rigorous runner, vigor; they
