ugh there are many threats and weaknesses Grayston Cottage cannot control, there are a few things that the restaurant can attempt to combat, for example, seasonality, untrained staff, lack of advertisements, and etc. As seasonality is a predictable change that recurs every year, Grayston Cottage can try to prepare accordingly. For instance, forecasting inventory levels and increasing staff during the summer, since tourists tend to head to the coast to beat the heat. Also, there are bound to be new ordinates and regulations, this threat cannot be avoided; nonetheless, Grayston Cottage has to remain vigilant to the new policies in order to avoid fines or being shut down. Nevertheless, hold events to fundraise for an important cause is as well. Plus, fundraising for an important cause is also good advertising for the restaurant. Since breast cancer awareness month is in October, it would be great for Grayston Cottage to have its grand opening within the month of October. Breast cancer affects many each year, and since women make up a large segment of the restaurant’s target market it makes sense. Therefore, the restaurant will partner with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, NBCF. The staff will also venture to the three local beaches, Sunset, Ocean Isle, and Holden, in addition to several shopping centers to offer a few samples and gather feedback from prospective guests. Sampling is a marketing strategy, which business can benefit. Sampling helps to increase sales not only during giveaways, but after the giveaways as well (Mochari, 2014). Offering samples allow guests to ask questions and try out the product. Through this tactic, staff members have an opener to explain the restaurant’s grand opening fundraising event. Each staff member will have three sample food items that way guests will be enticed to come to the restaurant and try out other items.
