Stress is the waking of a person’s mind and body when it demands something. Stressor are events or situations that can cause stress. Some of the common stressors include frustration, daily hassles, life changes and conflict. Although there are many stressors, there are also many ways to combat stress.
Frustration is a stressor that blocks you from obtaining your goals. An example of this is when you forget something important, when you’re late for a meeting because of traffic jam or when we can’t get something we want. Though these stress seems small, if they build up along with other stress it might lead to depression. Daily Hassles are daily things that we do or have which causes stress and frustrations. Although there are positive and negative aspect of life changes, you will still get stress from both because of the adjustment you need to make. An example of negative life changes is when a family member dies, you feel empty or lonely without them which causes stress and something depression to a you. An example of positive life changes is when you get married, you will feel the nostalgia of childhood and get lazy of doing work to provide for your family and spouse. This could also cause stress. Conflict is a stressor which forces you to make important decisions especially when you are pulled in two directions. The conflict can make you doubt yourself, choose between two alternatives, choose a choice that is good and bad and choose courses with its own advantage and disadvantage. Some examples include, choosing between two colleges that accepted you, choosing whether to risk offending someone with an honest answer or lie to them to make them feel better, choosing whether to go to a good academy but it is very far from your home and choosing whether to be healthy but do a lot of work or be unhealthy but do less
