Universities all have different requirements and atmosphere. It is important that I choose the correct university in order to maximize my success. The university that I chose was California State University Northridge because it’s a great school and its close to home, which is very important to me. This university is located in Northridge, California. The total amount of students that are enrolled in this university is 41,548. This statistic portrays the diversity of the school, and the amount of people that are dedicated to their education. The majority of the students are Latino, but the school is full of people of different ethnicities; White, Asian, Native Hawaiian, Alaskan Native, etc. After reviewing this information, It is refreshing to me that people of such different backgrounds will be coming together …show more content…

The school’s mascot is a matador, there is even a statue of the matador on the campus. 46% of the students are Male, and 54% of the students are Female. The minimum GPA to be accepted into this university is a 2.5. Students with a 3.0 or higher GPA are not required to include their testing scores. However, all students are required to include their SAT scores. The average SAT score to be accepted into the CSU is ranged from 800-1040. To get into this school, it is required that you have taken 4 years of English classes, 3 years of math (a 4th year is recommended), 2 years of a language, and 1 year of visual or performing arts. The most popular majors are Business, Management, and Marketing. Majors like those are very hands on, so most of the students live either in an apartment near the school, or on campus, so that they can constantly get there as easily as possible. Living on campus can be expensive and can cost up to $5,000 - $6,500 not including the kitchen that would be in their building which will add an extra $3,000.
