In the United States roughly 18% of people are homeless.Many people in the U.S are homeless and while there may be several causes. Some of the reasons that people become homeless aren't just personal issues, there's also some economic issues or work related injuries and more.
In the U.S there's a large amount of homeless people and many reasons why they're homeless one such reason is. Substance abuse: Many homeless people often abuse substances and once they start it's harder for them to get back on their feet because of the addiction. When we had interviewed a person on the street and asked them their opinion on the subject of homelessness and how the homeless use drugs, they said “People need a place to fully engage in substance use treatment and recovery services”(Castro). So if the city were to help put up shelters where the homeless could come and try to stop their addiction we might be able to greatly reduce the amount of homeless people on the streets. …show more content…
