Most of us are lucky enough to have a home. A place one can come to, and find those close to us. We often take this for granted, and stay blissfully unaware of how fortunate we are. Jeannette Walls’ life has been far from easy. From the day she was born, she and her family had combated constant forces of turbulence and order.
The documentary that we needed to watch for this essay is titled "Suburban America: Problems & Promise. " The movie is produced and directed by Ron Rudaitis, and its intended audience are students, community leaders, educators, as well as anyone who is interested in learning about the challenges that suburbs face, their history, as well as the role that they played in shaping the American society. When it comes to the effects of urban sprawl on the poorer people, they are left behind in the more undesirable inner parts of the city. Urban sprawl causes the government to increase taxes on the houses outside the city and place restrictions on building new homes within the city. Just like any issue pertaining to government, urban sprawl has its pros and cons. Based on what I’ve read, I don’t think this is a moral or ethical issue.

I grew up in Wellston, Ohio and lived in the countryside about fifteen minutes from town. My house was a home to me and it wasn 't the greatest, but it was special to me. My big backyard consisted of many fruit trees and a grape vine, it was where I had bonfires with my family and friends, and it was where I ran free with my brother. I had a pond, “over the hill” as my brother and I would say, where we swam and fished in the summertime and sat on the deck feeding bread to the bluegill as we had conversations about life. Behind our pond was where thousands of trees stood tall and where we roamed every inch of the hidden land.
In my head, I had no idea what Michigan would look like, and I couldn’t comprehend how there were places that looked different than the place I called home. Before I knew it, we boarded a plane and headed to Michigan. When we got here, it was nothing like what I had imagined. I didn’t really know how to feel about it and, for the most part, I didn’t really care because I had cousins I could play with and life
Many aren’t aware of the problem we have with urban sprawl. Everywhere we go we see farmlands and forest being destroyed to build houses, offices, and parks. There are many issues towards urban sprawl in how it affects our country and certain areas that could affect individuals. We already have many environmental issues we have to deal with like global warming, climate changes, deforestation, and pollution. Urban sprawl has increased certain environmental issues starting with deforestation.
