It was on a regular Wednesday afternoon during my fourth period class when I received a text message from Kaya saying were all sneaking to Subway before our basketball game this evening. I was super excited when she sent me the message. The cafeteria food, like any other school, was not so pleasing whatsoever. Today the cafeteria was serving tuna surprise casserole, mash potatoes, sweet corn, peas, and a dry piece of bread they called a dinner roll. Needless to say, going to Subway to get sandwiches for lunch today would be the best thing to do for lunch.

Kaya and Racheal were already there in the locker room sitting there just as excited as I was. Finally, Terra and Jay came to the locker room and we were all set to leave. Jay walked out first for see if any police were outside driving around the parking lot. She signaled us that the coast was clear and we all headed out. Everything was perfect. When we got back to the locker room Terra suggested that we all change back into our basketball uniforms and put on our Nike slides just in case the cop is outside. We agreed on the ideal and quickly put them on. Racheal, Terra, and I put on our hats. Kaya placed her hair in a bun and Jay threw on a head scarf. After we all changed from head to toe, we noticed it was time to start getting on the bus and head to our basketball game. As we all walked to the bus we noticed that same police officer outside talking to our schools Vice Principle. We saw him and immediately started to walk quickly to the bus with our head tiled down so he couldn’t see our faces. The cop looked in our direction, stared at us for a minuet then went right back to taking. When everyone got on the bus and it started driving away from the school, we all laughed and hugged each other. Then Jay pulls out our subway sandwiches and yells out “this $6.69 sandwich isn’t worth detention, but it was worth the memory.” Still tile this day we talk about everything we did that day and how our emotions were flying around. Even now as a sit her and type this paper I’ll stop typing and just laugh about how stupid me and my friend were when we were in high
