Subway and Jimmy John’s have been at competition for almost forty years. Whenever the two restaurants get brought up it causes a controversy on who is better. Over my lifespan I have heard a vast majority like subway better, but I have also heard of a lot of people like Jimmy John's better. Both are successful in the restaurant business, and both are good places to get a sub. The differences in the two are what make them original, and also successful. Subway is pretty much the same thing, no matter where you go they all look about the same. You walk in and you see the counter where you order scattered with all the ingredients you can think of. Subway is liked more because of it’s variety of breads, and because of the toaster, honestly if you don't get your sandwich toasted then you're doing it wrong. It is more of a regional thing more than a globally known franchise. Jimmy John’s bread is probably the best part of their sandwiches, which would help them if they made different flavors of bread like Subway. They do not have a toaster at Jimmy John’s and that is probably a reason they are less popular. They also don’t have all the meats, cheeses, or other ingredients that subway has, which is also a huge factor for everyone who likes all that other crazy stuff on their sandwich. Jimmy John’s chips and cookies are deficiently better than Subways, but the bad news is that people usually don't choose to go there just because of those and if they do then they just get the chips or the cookie. My favorite part about Jimmy John's is the atmosphere, the funny stickers around the walls, the music playing, and the staff is usually fun.
