Did you know two countries could have so much in common? Or so many differences? Sudan and America may have many differences, but they also have some similarities too. Such as some holidays both countries celebrate, foods that are eaten there. Even the religions that are practiced there. Sudan and America have many things similar and different, but I believe that both countries are more different than similar. The foods that Sudanese and American people eat vary in many ways. Just like Sudan does, America celebrates Christmas on December 25th. Both Sudan and America celebrate Christmas in honor or Jesus Christ’s birth. In Sudan, Christmas is usually celebrated with singing and dancing on the streets, they also tend to do lots of preaching and praying. In America many people tend to decorate their yards and houses with lights and different decorations, usually people put Christmas trees in their house and decorate them too, on Christmas day everyone usually sits near the Christmas tree and hands out gifts. Sometimes in America whenever everyone is sitting around the Christmas tree, someone might sing a song and tell the real meaning behind Christmas. Not everyone in these countries celebrate Christmas, because many people do not believe in Jesus Christ, but if they do, then that’s how it’s celebrated. Another holiday that is celebrated in both Sudan and America is independence day. In Sudan independence day is celebrated on July 9th, many Sudanese people gather in Juba to celebrate this holiday.
