High cost of prescription
The other major issues that need to be addressed in Canada’s healthcare system is the lack and inequalities of drug coverage. Drug cost is still a major issue that Canadians face especially those with low income and who have serious diseases such as cancer. Cancer treatments involve home drugs and care that are not covered by the public healthcare system. As a result, one in ten Canadians don’t have the money to fill the prescriptions the doctor writes for them. (Danielle M, 2014). This thought should be more than sufficient to engage a reform of the system. Lack of drug coverage also has an impact on Canadians life and people are having a hard time paying medical bills because their insurance doesn’t provide the full amount for their prescriptions, therefore people can’t afford it so they end up not buying the prescription the doctor writes. We live in a country where our healthcare is a pleasure and blessing to have, but getting ill has become a major concern for Canadians because they end up not getting the care they need to have, or they wait for
