It would be really difficult, but a man named Tom Standage did it. Tom stands in technology as well as being an author of six historical books including A History of the World in 6 Glasses. This book shows how beverages can sum up our history. I believe that this method works because of the structure of the book, the drinks themselves connect to history perfectly and the book only goes through the events that it needs to. A History of the World in 6 Glasses tells you all you need to know from the title. It tells our history through six specific drinks: beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea, and cola. This book goes from the Stone Age to the late twentieth century telling of how these drinks served their place. Beer and wine were first and served as bringing people together and providing a source other than water. Spirits and coffee fueled people to explore more and think outside of the box with exploration and knowledge. There are two chapters for each drink and in the chapters are different sections specifying what and how the drink contributed to it. The chapters also start with quotes that do with how the drink did so well. The quotes in a way summarize how the drink contributed to the time being presented. With being organized well and structured for the reader to find specific parts tells me that this helps in creating a book that tells
