Some days she’s happy and content and other days she feels as if everything is going wrong for her. Some might think Jaycee is just trying to put up an act that she is in fact in a happy mood so her daughters will not suspect that anything is wrong or something is bothering her. In the beginning, the mood of the story was sad and she was frightened because she was indeed afraid and confused of what was happening. She only wanted to be back home, in her bed with her mother and sister but that wasn’t happening anytime soon. As time passed, she became a little more comfortable around Phillip and Nancy. She was not as scared as she was before and she felt as if they didn’t bother her much anymore and treated her as equal. She was forced to have sexual intercourse and she gave birth to two beautiful girls at such a young age. She was not allowed to go outside during her first couple of years but after Phillip successfully made a really high fence where no one can see them, he let’s her and her girls roam the backyard. Jaycee was also forced to change her name to Allissa and was told to forget that her name was ever Jaycee Lee Dugard. When she was first taken, Phillip handcuffed her. He claimed that he doesn’t trust her yet but when he does, he’ll take them off. He ends up taking them off in a short amount of time which made Jaycee’s condition a little
