In my opinion, Adkins does an excellent job at providing vivid memories that display evidence to support his thesis. For example, Adkins writes, “When Mari and I came out of camp with Taylor, there were people yelling, guns were firing, and hand grenades were flying” (Adkins 108). This evidence is a recollection of Adkins’s time in battle, where he displays the courage and perseverance that a soldier has. He goes on to explain the terrifying realities of war.
