Alan Iny is the speaker for this assigned Ted Talk, and he has trained many executives on how to think with creativity (Iny, 2013). He works for BCG consultants as a member of its leadership team (Iny, 2013). He was a leader in their organizational design and launched “Thinking in New Boxes: A new Paradigm for Business Creativity” written with Luc De Brabandere in 2013 (Iny, 2013). His Ted Talk was titled Reigniting Creativity and discussed how modern brainstorm sessions by companies needed a new path (Iny, 2013). He explained that the key to creativity was doubt and to “doubt the doubt” (Iny, 2013). Too many companies looking to expand or improve their business would have these brainstorming sessions to spark creativity but rather would just be a tweak to the existing models (Iny, 2013). The book gives the example of the computer changing from beige to blue, pink and clear with Apple, and then Dell selling personal computers over the phone (Jones, 2013).
