In Blah, Blah, Blah, the author Kim Kessler discusses the various uses for the phrase “blah, blah, blah”. She mentions how often she has encountered this phrase recently and how frequently people her age use it to complete a thought. The author believes the employment of this phrase can be explained through a few reasons. These reasons include a lack of interesting material in conversations and a way to get to the interesting part of the story quickly. In addition, it is a method invoked by the person speaking to save both energy and time, as well as to show that the person telling the story and the person listening share an understanding.

In every Disney movie the villain is generally portrayed as evil or crazy, and it is taken as a personality type, but Disney movies also tend to sneak in a backstory for the villain geared towards explaining how they had come to be evil. And in the end, the villain is usually convinced that they should be “good” (again). So from this perspective, it may appear more so that the villain is not a personality type but a product of the situations they were in each moment that lead to he or she becoming the villain. Malcolm Gladwell is an award winning author who constructed a theory labeled The Power of Context, a chapter in his book The Tipping Point, to prove that people, such as villains in Disney movies, are products of their situations. In essence, to be a product of situations is to be a product of context.

If the puerto-rican boy is found guilty, he will be sent to the electric chair and sentenced to death.
The article “School of Hate” was written by Sabrina Rubin Erdely, who is an American Magazine writer who lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has written many articles for the likes of Rolling stone, Gentleman’s Quarterly, and The New Yorker. In the article Erdely discusses the bullying and homophobia that happened in the Anoka-Hennepin school district during the mid-2000s. Her article gives both points of view from the kids being bullied, as well as from the religious conservatives who thought that nothing was wrong with the homophobic slurs that were being said to children and teenagers. One may disagree with the perspective of the religious conservatives.

The actions of the Alpha Company are driven by emotion and stress. These issues create great problems for the Company, stripping them of their civilized societal standards and leaving only natural human instinct.

Americans are very fortunate to have a judicial system in the United States, which is based on the idea that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Common reasons jury duty is not popular include taking time off work, not getting the same amount of pay as if one is at work, and simply just not wanting to be there. People will always be biased from their own experiences.
In the “Ways of the Badass,” author Jack Katz focuses on individuals who attempt to portray the behavior of a “badass.” Katz describes a badass as an individual who embraces deviance act as a good thing. He attempts to establish proof that the behaviors of a badass take plenty of tactics. Being a badass requires an individual to have a tough appearance, separate from the norm and being mean. “Being tough is essentially a process of negation, achieved either with a visual block, a symbolic sartorial shield, an audible muffle, or a maneuver that inverts the suggestions of a morally open self that are inevitably born in such everyday activities as eating, meeting friends, and conversing” (pg 87).

To convey the brutality and animosity of “The Troubles”, Seamus Heaney expressed his thought-provoking opinions in the form of poetry. His collection of poems called “North” specifically portray the violent and hatred of The Troubles during 1968 to 1998. The Troubles refer to the sectarian warfare and division between the United Kingdom and Ireland.
